The premise of Scientology Pwned is to essentially shoot everything in sight. The single unobstructed map has four enemy generators that create progressively tougher enemies.

Use the arrow keys to move your character, and hold the control key to shoot. Your shooting direction will automatically lock when the control key is held down.

Alternatively, the shift key can be held to lock your shooting direction when the control key is not held down. Music was composed by Jonathan Mak, creator of Everyday Shooter.

Name: Scientology Pwned

okay, seriously, why that title? You know that within twenty-four hours you're going to have this comment section spammed with posts by James Lightfield and Greg "Live and Grow" Churilov wanting to know why you are so evil and intolerant towards the (purportedly) fastest-growing (purported) religion in the world and how come you didn't read even one chapter of Dianetics before blah blah blah ... and that's if they don't get the idea that mentioning the word "Scientology" in connection with a shooting game is somehow recommending that Scientologists be shot.

Oh, you think I'm kidding? You think they'd be reasonable and acknowledge the fact if nothing in your game actually advocated any act of violence towards Scientologists? Think again; the Church of Scientology will ignore the facts and spin-doctor you until you look like evil incarnate. Google on "Jairus C. Godeka", a man who walked into a Scientology center in Portland, Oregon and shot four people. Now this is of course a horrible act which cannot be condoned -- but it's the response of Scientology that needs looking at. Scientology later used this as an example of "Hate speech and extremist propaganda on the Internet have repeatedly driven unstable individuals to commit felonious acts" and in later court actions made reference to it as an example of why they have to persecute critics -- because who knows how many of them might have been already "inflamed by Internet allegations" to the point of violence, right?

Of course, what they knew full well and forgot to mention either in court or in their press release is that Jairus Godeka was a former Scientologist. That's of course the far more likely source for Godeka's grudge, but that's the point -- the CoS doesn't give a damn about truth, just about spin. Do yourself a favor and change the game's name before you get spun.

Not that I'm saying the author of this game hates Scientology or not, I've never met the guy, but I think hatred of a religion which brainwashes people into believing that humans were sent to earth by an intergalactic warlord and confined in a Volcano for 10 billion years while forcing them to spend every waking moment working to spread this idea isn't the same thing as hatred for the people brainwashed by this. On the contrary, the more you hate Scientology, the more you love (and want to help) the people who are controlled by it.

Hmm, no one's said anything about the game itself. It's great fun, and the music rocks!! Who cares about Scientology -- just get blasting!!

Phew. Quite a response. A few things I'd like to get straight.

Scientology isn't a religion. No government in the world recognizes them as a religion. Not even a radical one.

I don't hate Scientologist. I hate Scientology.

Finally, this game was never meant to get this much attention. But I was quite aware of the harrasment I may be subject to by scientologists.... to which I say:
t(-.-t)

That said, I'm glad some people have enjoyed the game. Rock on people.

Rock on Zi-xiao!

It's a sweet game, and the feel of the weapons is very entertaining, if that sounds right and doesn't paint me in a psychotic light. What I mean is that the sound, bullet casings, muzzle-flash and screen effects all pull together really well so that even though there's no weapon onscreen and we're from a top-down perspective the guns still feel like they have a hell of a kick to them. It's an awesome game, although I kind of miss my Joypad, I always suck more with the keyboard (Although 47000 isn't bad right?)
